This concept began weeks ago with a very basic
design. I was drawn to creating a structure for multiple
locations with each piece being connecting to and
being a part of a wholistic image. My idea was to place
each section at different locations that were central to
experiences from the survivors of the Stolen generation,
such as some of the children’s homes.
This design ended up highlighting my fear of genuinely
creating my own interpretation of first nations art works.
From here I decided to let go of my fear and really
explore with a mixture of traditional, and abstract
shapes. The design evolved to a dome like structure to
create a 3D and immersive experience for the viewer.
